You'll be able to get bonuses and customizations from the 3DS game to the WiiU game.
That's what I think it is.

It' sgonna be super exciting anyway.
I'm getting both games.

probs a pokeball or stage event

I think it's most likely a Pokeball, due to the close proximity to Pikachu (player character) it seems like it's on the fighting stage. If it was in the background, like Dialga/Palkia/Cresselia then it would probably be set further back, although Dialga did have an attack where he leaped onto the stage so who knows, it could be either I guess.

Woah~ That's great! So you're forced to off them upwards? You can't like smash them to the sides since the sides are up too.

Good news for anybody who liked the gamecube controller (might just be me :p):

I'm psyched. Kinda disappointed it's wireless instead of wired but it's not that big of a deal.

I played brawl, melee and project Melee with the gamecube controller so I'm glad the option to use it is still available for the newest game.

I had gotten used to GameCube controller for melee but then I had to get used to the Wii mote for brawl because I wasn't aware I could use GameCube controllers for it.

Now that I'm used to the Wii mote I don't even care what controller I use for this new smash bros lol

IT NEEDS TO COME OUT SOONER Q_Q

Well, I was aware I could use the GC controller on Wii.
What I forgot is that the WiiU dropped the GC support. So I was forced on the Wiimote. Now I play with the Classic Controller Pro.
I suck so much though.
I already bought the Pro controller for the WiiU just for Smash. Since that controller is exactly the same as an X360 one, it should play rather well.

Pacman hungers for battle.

Mario, Donkey Kong, Sonic, Megaman and Pacman in the same game.
How awesome can you get?!

Also, we might see Sceptile in Smash.
Cause we have Charizard and Greninja. Fire and Water starters final stage.
Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire are coming.
We're missing the Grass starter possibly final stage.

So we get 2 new characters from Fire Emblem: Lucina and Robin. Chrom is part of Robin's Final Smash it would seem.
Robin is available in both male and female version.
And Captain Falcon makes a comeback.

Worse than that... Where's Ness?
Though Robin seems different, Lucinda is clearly a Marth clone.

Yeah Ness represents a franchise.  We don't need another Marth clone (she even looks like gender-bent marth).  I want to see franchises represented, not over-represented :P  It's not like Fire Emblem is a big enough franchise to warrant so many players like with Mario.  Smash Bros needs to look at Nintendo history and choose famous stuff, not just advertise their latest games.

Fire Emblem is very old, it has a place in Nintendo history.
Robin is new, Lucinda IS a Marth reskin, in FE: Awakening, she is disguised as Marth for half the game, so im quite sure shes a reskin. She doesn't even have a newcomer title on the website.

FE is very old and huge in Japan, so im fine with 3 characters and a reskin

Sakurai confirmed she's a Marth clone.
She would have been a palette of Marth like with Robin M/F or Wii Fit Trainer M/F but her stats are a bit different. Seems like she'll be more balanced and easier to play than Marth. So he says.

I get that's part of nintendo history, but not really big enough for 4 people.  She isn't just a re-skin, she's a separate playable character who is also clone character.  So really it's 4 characters, but with one being redundant, when somebody else from a different game could have been included.

I get what you mean there's like 7-8 Mario characters which is totally normal since it's Nintendo's flagship.
Then you have Pokemon that has a bunch of characters but that's legit since they all behave quite differently.
But having Fire Emblem with 4 characters is almost like placing it as 2nd or 3rd most important Nintendo franchise.
Zelda has Link, Toon Link, Zelda and maybe Ganondorf. Which makes it a total of 4. Same as Fire Emblem.
Not saying Fire Emblem isn't good or popular but to get 4 characters in Smash? It's odd.

Plus, in early development, Sakurai said he didn't want to make clones in this installment.
Yet he goes and present Lucina and then says she's a clone of Marth.
Plus, even before that, he was saying he wanted quality over quantity saying there wouldn't be too many newcomers...

Tbh though, I don't mind Lucina. It's nice to have more Female characters.
Also, I may use her because I absolutely love Marth but I suck with him. So if she's essentially the same but easier to handle, she may go up my list.

Abuse that side B whenever a situation calls for a quick side attack, unless a smash side attack is more appropriate.

That side B is so spammable and great at racking up damage @_@

Yeah right.
I bought Smash at release and been playing it ever since and I haven't gotten much better. A little better but anyways, I'm a lost cause. XD
I did get worse lately. Due to the fact we transferred Smash' data from the Wii to the WiiU and the WiiU doesn't support GameCube controllers. Yet.

I don't really like Fire Emblem.
I tried one on GBA or DS. Can't remember. Many tactics much encounters so hard.

I'm pretty confident in brawl, I almost always win against irl people

When I played against Sakashi online though, it was like 50/50 win/loss and each time it was really close

Also admittedly when I played Radiant Dawn I selected the Easy difficulty and never replayed it on a harder difficulty, but if I buy the new Fire Emblem game I'm definitely starting it on Normal difficulty :3

Edit: Looked it up, apparently Awakening's difficulties are Normal, Hard and Lunatic, so like, the new Normal is the old Easy, so my first playthrough of Awakening if I get it, shall be on Hard

And there's two 'types' of difficulties; Casual, where permadeath doesn't exist, and Classic, where there's permadeath. Definitely choosing Classic :3

I find it makes it more fun. Like most players, I instantly restart whenever I lose someone. But there's a difference between Classic and Casual in the sense that, Casual is less difficult because you can rush people to their death and have them back the next level. So it's actually less difficulty. In Classic you actually have to try and keep everyone alive and there's a little thrill in that : D

The only real difference Sunshine had was that Water backpack thing.  Besides that, it was just another Mario 64 style game.

The Fludd, the storytelling, the voice-acting, the stages, the gameplay, the concept.
Everything is different from other Mario games.
It was a revolutionary game but everyone complained about it so now every Mario game is the same with different powerups.

W/e, haha. Fire emblem: awakening is legit and that I at least heard sunshine was good. It's probably like LoZ: Windwaker, in the sense that it was underappreciated in its time but then became more appreciated later on. And they're both gamecube games.
ANYWAY, that aside, who would be down for 3ds smash bros matches when the game comes out? :o
Call me overconfident but I'm down to do 1v2s. Smash is one of the few things I'm actually decent at.
I just hope the online gameplay is actually consistent this time around.

dont think ill get 3ds smash bros..

definitely going to play the wii u version HEAPS when it comes out

but for 3DS every individual needs a 3DS and the game so... not many people to play with

for me its all about the multiplayer

fire emblem: awakening is only going to be for entertaining me on bus rides; at home i will always choose multiplayer games over single player games

Fair point on the 3ds having less people to play with.
But I'll be at college when the 3ds one comes out and I know at least a couple people who have a 3ds.
I just mentioned the 3ds version since it'll be coming out slightly earlier than the wii u one.
I'm definitely psyched about the wii u version as well. There's no doubt the wii u version is gonna be the version to go to if you got a wii u around. Multiplayer is partly why I like smash bros so much :o
Humans can be tougher opponents than any AI, and its always nice to do silly shit in smash bros if I just want to play for fun.
FE awakening as bus ride entertainment? D:
I played that game for hours at a time at home lol. Well, whatever works. If you're playing classic it might take a while to complete the game tho.

That's the point, Awakening will kill time on many many bus trips and therefore make many of them entertaining :3

Although if it ever gets to a point where I can't beat a single stage in 40 minutes, I guess I'll have to either start using a mid-battle save function (if they have one) or just play it off the bus

Well yeah Awakening is more a game thats meant to be played properly, than in short bursts, thats true.

But when I'm at home I will always choose multiplayer games over single player games :x
So did you ever beat the LoZ: Skyward Sword? <.< >.>
DONT TELL ME YOU PLAYED IT OUTSIDE.
Actually if you did, I'd be impressed.
Tell me you played it outside. :p

what? ;_;

Fans complained that it didn't feel like a Mario game anymore even though it was like the second 3D Mario game ever.
So Nintendo went and did Galaxy which was good and since people liked it since it 'felt more' like Mario, they made Galaxy 2.
And then their dying spree went on not 2 or 3 but 4 NEW SUPER MARIO BROS games!
And 3D Land and 3D World.
Now every new Mario game is like the last because at the time, fans were dicks about Sunshine.

I was being dumb on him too.
My bro told me "Why don't you try that? It seems like he's doing that move exactly."
Then I try it and OMFG it just worked!
It is an epic boss though.

I remember one of my friends in high school telling me he did the same thing ::)
I feel like he was more satisfied when he finally won the boss battle though, since he worked harder to earn it.

I think I was already spoiled on the lightning trick before-hand unfortunately <.< >.>
I would have liked to have figured it out in the moment. That "aha" moment in zelda games is so freakin special.

Crazy stuff. Yeah, it was set up for sure lol.
As far as I know, there's no way to predict where items spawn.
On top of that, their reaction times and input speeds are inhuman.
The players would have to be like octopi supercomputers <.< >.>
It was probably done through TAS (tool-assisted superplay).
There are a lot of crazy TAS videos on youtube.

I was Platinum.
I got 4.
1 for myself and 3 to share.

It's a demo.
Yesterday it had Mario, Link, Pikachu and Mega Man playable.
Today, they unlocked Villager too.
There's only one stage: Battlefield.
All options are locked but Solo play, Group play and tips.

Yeah.
I personally preferred when there were cool items to get on club.nintendo rather than cheap games.
But if they start giving demos and more dlc for their games there, it's gonna be ok.
Did you know that when you register both Smash games on club.nintendo, you get the soundtrack?
It's pretty nice.

Is it just me or have they made like the majority of characters more powerful than in Brawl? Maybe it's just because the 3DS has a small screen lol

I'd agree. They took out edge hogging which makes characters with better recoveries have less of an advantage, and chain grabbing was removed as well, which is good for those characters that would otherwise get chain grabbed. Gotta see how the metagame develops though.

I love nintendo but you really expected decent online from them?

I was not suprised at all it turned out to be sub-unplayable. Nintendo needs to get with the program and make good online services. Your Nintendo ID is locked on consoles, its annoying having to go through this huge process just to get it on another 3ds.

Why can't they just use accounts like everyone else :(, being unique doesn't always mean being good. Its like making a car with square wheels.

It's pretty dang fun so far.

A few things but the most relevant one is you place them on your wii u gamepad and you get a special customisable trainable smash bros character that you can take with you.

Nope. You choose an ingame recolor and you can customize each move from 3 or 4 different unlockable in game.
The fighter gets better as you make it fight alongside or against you.

So Mewtwo is gonna be around £5 to purchase for both consoles, hopefully it will only be about £2-2.50 for 3DS so I don't have to spend too much (don't have a Wii-U).

Also, Lucas is announced!!

Nintendo also announced a competition where you can send in ideas for characters and they may implement them in the future, so there's still hope for Wolf!
