Title: Dungeons and Dragons BS Edition!
Post by: Kinfin on October 21, 2013, 05:07:40 pm
Hello, Ladies and Gentlemen, Dwarfs and Elfs, Dragon people and Dog men. It is I, Kinfin, your host and DM for the Ludicom DnD Organization.

But since the real rules are way too long and annoying, we do it in simple mode. So all you need is a character, Skype, and a Microphone. We get in a chat, I roll an online die, Kloud confirms what I say is what is rolled, and hilarity ensues.

So how do you make a character?

You'll need the following things for a character, a Race, base stats, a class, base equipment, and base Skills.

Race is only really used for story purposes in BS edition, so that's one thing that you don't need to worry about. Here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Character_race_(Dungeons_&_Dragons)) you can find the core races. But it doesn't matter too much.

Stats are simple enough. In fact, Fallout inspired the setup of simplicity. You have Seven stats, Strength, Perception, Endurance, Charisma, Intelligence, Agility, and Luck. They won't directly affect things, but I'll be keeping them in mind when we play. You have 40 stat points to spend, and each stat needs a Minimum of 1 with a max of 10. Remember, items you get can buff them, so a 10 on something has it's downside too.

Your class reflects your potential skills and equipment potential. The classes are as follows, Warrior, Rouge, Theif, Mage, Battlemage, Cleric/Priest, Bard, Paladin, Necromancer, Hunter, Ranger, and Monk. Rather than explain them here, if you don't get what it is, just PM me whatever class your interested in.

Your equipment and skills are related to your class. Weapons and armor come in various materials, but your first gear will be either Iron, Steel, Chain,  or Leather. Better stuff exists, but you start at level 1 so yeah. Skills also relate to your class as well. You start with standard stuff, such as a simple spell or a basic attack move. When you level up, you can get more skills or upgrade old ones.

If you're interested, post your character, and if you're not part of the Ludicom Skype Group, your Skype info. (maybe include that anyway). Whenever a good enough group of players is assembled, we can start a session.

I can personally say I do have some interest, when I come back I'll take a real look into making a character possibly if I have the time and stuff.

I already told you about the spelling problems on skaipez, I won't go into them here

troll character go

Name: Veran Half-Elf
Race: Sivak Draconian
Class: Rouge Theif Necromancer
Spells: Animate Dead, Magic Missile I can start with a 5th level spell, ri-*shot*
Gear: Creepy black robe, rusty iron knife (only used for spells that require blood)
Strength: 3
Perception: 9
Endurance: 7
Charisma: 1
Intelligence: 10
Agility: 5
Luck: 5

I wouldn't have made perception and int so high
but 40 was an excessive amount of points after I had put what I felt necessary in everything xD

I'm recording all registered characters. For the record, Kloud has been building this charecter up for about 4 play sessions now. Reechee also has a built character, if he chooses to register it, as does his brother, and Daniel.

Today I learned that centipede legs and ghast feces make better satchels than spider webs :D

Note to Rushad, terminology in your character design may have been altered for the sake of continuity.

Oh, thanks for that, and not including the typo.

Possibly, but I'd really want Richie to be there since he usually is what makes the funny.

Agreed, otherwise it ends up being awkward decisions and commands for 2 hours :P
