34  General / Gaming General / Super Mario Maker on: September 13, 2015, 04:57:01 pm
Anybody else playing Super Mario Maker?  Good stuff.  I got the Classic Pixel Mario Amiibo which lets me make giant Marios.  I have played way too much of this game already.

Also here are some levels codes of the levels I uploaded (not all the ones I made, just the ones uploaded so far.  Like I made a Giant Mario level quite early but I haven't uploaded it), if anybody is interested:

E6DD-0000-0014-DA8F Sideways Bouncing, you have to get over a bunch of sideways springs.
0834-0000-0015-1829 You Win, it's one of those super easy ones but there is still some bonus stuff to explore if you want
52E5-0000-0015-6477 Bounce and Flounce, springs on springs to get up high to make it to the next one otherwise you fall into piranha plants
7D37-0000-002E-1316 Options, it's got multiple paths you can take to get to the end
4401-0000-002F-1DB0 Bricks Cascade, you are inside the bricks and have to get out.  It has a couple paths you can go and an extra part you can explore to get some items.  It's underwater.
75D7-0000-002F-8FC2 5-4 Replica, it's not exactly the same but it's pretty close to the original World 5-4 from Super Mario Bros.  You have to get past a bunch of fire sticks.
EAB7-0000-0050-5CDC All of the Things, it's got pretty much all the items I have involved in the level, it's actually quite straightforward but not easy.

I'll post more codes if I upload more levels, but my limit is 10 at the moment, so give me stars so I do more.

Good stuff. I still need to finish Windwaker HD at some point D:
me too
I won the forest dungeon the other day though.

oh yeah I got Adventure of Link for free via club nintendo the other day.  This game is brutal as hell.  Stuck in Level 1, getting rekt by iron knuckle.  I don't know if I'll win this one, but I'll try again soon.

Put I like that you only get the one chance, I don't want to be able to do it over if i F up. I makes so much more sense. 'Op. You killed killed the one of a kind Yveltal? That's fine. Well just dust it off so you can try again. No biggie.' How sensible is that?
You can just save before and turn it off.  This only saves you from doing that.  So this makes no different except for not spending an extra 30 seconds soft-resetting.  Plus accidentally fainting the Legend would be a shame but thankfully they respawn now.  Cos catching em all would be impossible otherwise.

Forced capture doesn't mean the pokeball always works.  It means if you defeat the pokemon, the battle happens again.  Which I think is a good thing.  Their catch rates aren't too high and even so, that makes it less annoying(they are still on the low side.  you cant throw a pokeball at full health.  a quick ball sure) .  All low catch rate mons just means wasting a ton of ultra balls; that isn't a challenge, that's just annoying and waiting for the rng to work for you.  The harder ones are then optional things later on, but the battle no longer has to disrupt the main plot by being really slow.

you say you like a challenge, but then you complain about how hard BW supposedly is.

The games weren't intended to be played as a nuzlocke run.  That mode of gameplay was made by a fan.  Also forced legendary captures are great; it means if you screw up, you get another chance to capture them.  Besides, legends are usually the first wild in their area.

I've been playing the Splatoon Testfire Demo.  It's really fun, the game is very simple to understand.  I told myself I wouldn't get sucked in, but I did and now I've order the game xD  My Wii U game collection will definitely be bigger than I thought it would be.  I've got Smash, WWHD, LoZ on VC and ordered Mario Maker as well as Splatoon.  Plus I'm probably going to get Pokken next year and maybe the Wii U Zelda.

Original Zelda has been won!  Now I'm up to 7 Zelda Games completed Smiley

I played it over the last four days... it took somewhere between 6 and 6 & a half hours over all to get through it.

Quick thoughts.  Overworld at the first stretch of the game is crueler than most dungeons.  Level 8 was a nightmare because Darknuts everywhere in rooms with fireball shooting statues and bubbles.  The bosses were actually quite easy, especially compared to everything else in this game.  There were mini-bosses much harder than the bosses.

I've essentially done all the Fallen timeline except Zelda 2 (LttP>OoS>OoA>LA>aLBW>LoZ>Z2AoL) (my only non Fallen timeline win is PHg.)

I'm considering picking up tWWHD.

Oh, tell me how Mario Maker is. That game seems quite interesting.
Yeah.  I don't usually get the Mario games cos I'm not very good, but making them (and making ones more my skill level) sounds fun.  I bought the bundle with the Classic Mario Amiibo and the artbook.  I got a good deal because amazon were offering a £10 code so atm it looks like I'm only paying £36 for it all.

That's awesome dude!
Thanks Cheesy

I bought a Wii U last week (been playing lotsa Smash on it) and I downloaded the original Zelda on it, so I'll play that soon.  Also while I'm mentioning the Wii U, I pre-ordered Mario Maker.

No, baseball cards are worse. We had a guy in our store the other day with a tiny scale weight packs of baseball cards for literally hours, trying to find ones with rare cards in them cuz the rare ones weigh slightly more than normal ones I guess. It was weird yo.
that happens with most collectible cards.  the rarer ones have more foil and stuff on them that makes them weigh a bit more.  though not by much, most people fail when they do the weighing cos it's really hard to get right.  but yeah loads of cards do that.
