even then, I preferred Oblivion.
I usually focus on stealth classes, rarely ever using Magic.
If you can teach me how to Play Oblivion without my enemies becoming ungodly stronger than me whilst not making it a mess of confusing formulas, i'll perfer Oblivion.

Think you're thinking of Dawnstar. Dragonborn had Warebears.
I never understood how to make a working class in Oblivion.
Maybe if I were on PC and could use mods to make leveling up make more sense, I'd prefer Oblivion, but modless and DLCless on Console, I prefer Skyrim.
I'm talking about Dragonborn, there was a werewolf pack hidden in the mountains that sells you rings that effect your beast form, apart from that they serve no purpose.
And I never really cared much for werebears, especially since you can't play as them without mods :\
And making a class in oblivion takes a bit of practice, but can lead to quite a lot of fun. I liked the leveling system, it starts off quite slow but the more you play, the faster you level up.
By far, stealth was at it's best in Oblivion. Robberies were amazingly fun, mostly because people actually had stuff worth stealing xD

One effective playstyle is focusing on Sneak, Security, Archer, any one melee style, and leave the rest open for stuff you think will be useful (like illusion or mercentile). Then when you go dungeon crawling, use stealth to deal with enemies. Most dungeons in Oblivion were actually made with stealth in mind (with the exception of Mages Guild and Fighters Guild quests, of course).

Just find something you like, and focus on it.
Thats the biggest thing.
I like stealth, so I focus on stealth.
I will say though, Skyrim is easy as hell but the kills are more satisfying. Because of the finishers.

If I play Oblivion again, I'd wanna be a mage. That being said, robes aren't armor, and there's no oak flesh spell. Any advice?

Don't get hit xP
If it helps, I think you can try saving up your coin and getting a fortify health enchantment once you get to the Arcane University.

My problem with Morrowind, even looking past the stupid menus: Attacks don't hit. Ever. I've landed maybe 11 hits in this game, all on rats, which had killed me 3 times prior, a feat which is literally impossible as I had armour...

Morrowind with the Overhaul mod is very nice graphically and it sounds great, but the interface and combat is still ancient as hell...
Yeah, I bought morrowind just to use the graphic overhaul, to replay morrowind since i haven't played it in like 10 years. Couldn't stand how it was played anymore, even though I enjoyed it back in the day.

Found a relatively recent screenshot of my team in Skyrim:
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=185875130
Left: Serena (yes, I know she's not normally a khajiit, but I like to mod my game xD)
Middle: Korbis (me, only ever wears the glass helmet when going into dungeons, usually looks like he does in my old avatar)
Right: Bran (generic vampire-hunting dog from Dawnguard, kind of annoying when he and Serena get in a fight... (yes it does happen xD))
Edit: Wrong pic, will fix xD
Edit 2: Fixed

Okay, so I'm gonna play Skyrim again. You guys make limitations for me.
Options that I've done before.
Only one type of magic allowed
No armor allowed
No physical weapons allowed
No Smithing Allowed (Besides Rings jewelry)
Two Handed Weapons Only
Bare Fists Only
So either go with something like those, or something new. Make a set of restrictions and whatever seems most interesting/fun, I'll do. Might even record highlights or something.

Can only use guard armor and weapons, no magic, no sneaking.
In short be the adventurer who took the arrow to the knee, play using guard restrictions.

You are also not allowed to use shouts in cities, it scares the locals.

You do know that arrow to the knee is nordic slang for getting married, right? They didn't get hurt, their wife just doesn't want them risking their neck unnecessarily anymore.

I think that was a joke that somebody started, pretty sure it's not confirmed.

Not even Elder Scrolls Nordic. It's a real Scandinavian slang for getting married.
