oh this anime does the gyms in an interesting way
Brock asks Red how many badges he has and then selects what mons he used based on the answer, in this case none yet
so gyms have teams based on the opponent's level curve

  Must...resist...creepy urges... too many witnesses... would look weird...

Maybe it's like the games, and you have to do them in order, can't just go skip gyms, because random sleeping snorlaxes and what not.  |

Maybe it's like the games, and you have to do them in order, can't just go skip gyms, because random sleeping snorlaxes and what not. No, I mean when in games you skip Gyms. I know for a fact that you can get past the sleeping snorlaxes to go on to Koga and Sabrina before you fight Ericka, and I know for a fact Geovoni can be fought the moment you clear Team Rocket out of Saffron City. |
