With X and Y's release, an event Torchic holding it's Mega Stone was released as well.
Dispite it being something nobody would pass up, there's one problem. This creature is too good to be used.
As an event Pokemon, it gains boosted experience. With the new Exp Share, this means it will be leveling up 1.5 times faster than your whole team. For me, this means it was fully evolved before I even got the Mega Ring.
As a dream world Torchick, it has speed boost, but this doesn't even matter because Mega Blazekin has it anyway.
As a mega, it has HUGE stats.
As a Blazekin, it easily has Blaze Kick, Double Kick, Brave Bird, and by TM, Shadow Claw before level 50.
This thing is too good. I made this realization a bit over half way through the story. So I'm gonna set it aside for my Meta Uber team assuming it isn't banned from that. Coup de Gras is one thing, but this thing breaks the game, and can probably do the entire story Solo.

To be honest, I saw this coming. I rarely use event pokemon in my playthroughs (except for the Shaymin encounter from D/P/Pt. that I transferred to Soul Silver for my first playthrough  ) |

I just keep it in the party with EXP Share to evolve it for the Dex. I also gave him Cut. SO maybe he'll end up running as an HM slave. XD |

It's kinda op to use in a playthrough, I've just got it sitting in my party, I don't use it at all though, it's just there to level up.

It's why I didn't use it, I'm not really a fan of using traded Pokemon in game. Ironically I'm struggling to find a fire type now.

Yeah, that ended up being my issue too. You shouldn't need it too much, and worst case, get a Houndour or one of those Psudo Moltres |
