I'm struggling with what I want to go to school for. Part of me says Auto tech and be a mechanic but that shit is so expensive cuz of the tools and shit. Another part says plumber cuz it's easy to get into. I dunno. Life is hard ;-;
Make a personal list of the pros and cons of each. Decide based on that.
Which decision do you think you'll be happier with say, 5 years down the line?

Time for my own update.

Things are not looking well.
I'm 24 now.
And all the things that I had going for me, are gone.
My girlfriend left me 7 months ago.
I was an intern at Electronic Arts for the second time, but they told me they wouldn't hire me back.
Learned that my grandpa has had untreated prostate cancer for two years.
Financially and health-wise, my family isn't doing great.
I fell in a depression and while I'm meeting with a psychologist, my family doctor and two career advisors, I don't feel like trying anymore.
Everything I try fails miserably and I can't focus on anything.
Being at the same school as my ex is too hard for me.
I'm leaving the city at the end of April, going to live with my cancer grandpa for 4 months.
It's ironic. I was gonna graduate by the end of August. But I don't want to anymore.
I don't know where to go. I don't want to go anywhere.
Right now my only focus is keeping active the part of me that still wants to be alive. And it's getting really tough.
Got my antidepressant prescription two weeks ago, so chemically I'm working on it.
Plus all the other daily exercises I'm doing.
But dreaming every night that I'm back with the woman who lit up my world... most days I'd rather not wake up.
I used to be such a success story... it's a shame that I'm where I am now. Wasted potential.
Oh well.

Sorry to be such a downer.
I like you guys.
I'm sorry about that Rosim.
I hope your Grandpa recovers and your family improves in terms of health and finances.
Make the best of your time with your Grandpa so you have no regrets.
Failure happens to everyone, but don't let it define you. Failure is something you do, not something you are.
You didn't succeed because of your girlfriend. You succeeded because you worked hard.
And while it sucks that someone who was clearly very dear to you left your life, life goes on.
Try to appreciate what you do have. I know that's way easier said than done. I'm not saying to ignore
all the bad. You should accept the bad as part of reality. I'm just saying to try to appreciate the good too.
What you appreciate could be anything and something I can't answer for someone else.
But it could even be basic shit like food, water, sunlight, or a nice breeze, as silly as that sounds.
Sorry if I sound preachy. Take it as you will and form your own conclusions.
Wishing the best for you dude.

Rowlet, too :D I remember you Darkgale! Yeah, we didn't talk much but you were always around. Since finishing university I haven't used Japanese at all... It'll all be forgotten soon lol.

Enjoy Computer Science whilst it lasts, I miss it. xD What are you looking to do after it, programmer?
Yooo, nice. I feel like rowlet was the popular starter after the final evolutions were revealed, although
I think the hate on litten is unnecessary. I was debating between litten and rowlet before settling on rowlet.
I flip-flopped a couple times. All the starters final evos have 70 base speed or less, rofl. Feels bad man :p
Aww, I'm slowly reaching the same point. I wanna pick Japanese back up though.
Tbh, a lot of the computer science assignments I have seem pretty busy-worky to me, so
I'm not enjoying it that much right now. Maybe I'll appreciate it later though.
After college? Making a game would be cool. If I can do something with music that'd be neat too.
If I need to I'll just fall back on a programming job I suppose.

Pokemon Sun and Moon are out! Hype :o
I got rowlet. Which starter did you guys get?
Yay reading everyone's life updates and finding it hard to believe these were the same 14 year old kids I knew 6/7 years ago!

So here's my little update to those who care :P

I finished university last year (degree in Computer Science & Japanese Language). Sat here as a 25 year old now... during the active days of PPN I was 18 and had not so much interest in Pokemon. I loved my Piplup and would take the poor thing into competitive battling against people like Darkness Unleashed. Coming across this forum randomly got me into Pokemon Platinum and to you guys! Can't believe there's still people here checking every so often, it's nice to see familiar names for the first time in years.

Now I'm working as a backend web developer for a fairly decent company since graduating, and I'll be getting married uhm... in two weeks to a Chinese girl I've been with for four years. It feels crazy knowing how I had so little when I was 18, barely affording a DS to play Pokemon as my family was poor as they come. Yet, here I am. About to start a family. My biggest regret is being unable to show my mum the person I ended up as. She passed away in 2012 from cancer - it only took 4 months from discovery until it took her and we were completely unprepared for it.

I owe to my unwillingness to give up making games, even though it was in Game Maker and I never finished a game. I now owe my career to it as it introduced me into the programming field.  (I still haven't finished a game yet... I'm still trying!) PS. Aryeh, no more dragons, please! We have too many dragons! Stop writing more in! Those were some nice memories xD

On the other hand...
20 days to go for Pokemon Sun/Moon and I am hyped. Bring it!
I don't think we talked much, but I'm pretty sure I remember you.
I'm majoring in Computer Science as well. I'm a senior right now.
It looks like you're doing well and I'm happy for you man. You'll make a game someday as long as you keep at it, haha.
Also, I actually took Japanese as my language requirement for college, but I haven't practiced the language at
all after passing the required intermediate level course. Teach me pls :p

Hello everyone,

I hope you're all doing fine.
Just dropping a little update on my latest pride.

I just turned green.
Traded in my Avenger for a new 2016 Kia Soul EV.
That's a completely electric car.
It's pretty expensive but it fits my needs better than the Avenger.

Thanks and keep keeping on people!
Nice. That's awesome dude, congrats!

ayyyy ill be 23 this year i think.
Ayyy, nice.
Sporadic posts every so often, sometimes months apart, doesn't really equal an active forum.
It doesn't. But better than nothing :o

 (͡ ͜ʖ ͡)
Been playing the Wind Waker.  Dragonroost Cavern completed today.
Good stuff. I still need to finish Windwaker HD at some point D:

Yeah.  I don't usually get the Mario games cos I'm not very good, but making them (and making ones more my skill level) sounds fun.  I bought the bundle with the Classic Mario Amiibo and the artbook.  I got a good deal because amazon were offering a 10 code so atm it looks like I'm only paying 36 for it all.
Wow, that sounds like a pretty nice deal.
You should try out games even if you aren't very good at 'em. Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze is a great platformer as well btw.
The worse you are at something the more you have to learn from it :o
You'll be happy you played a game if it initially wrecks you but you manage to overcome it later, at least in my experience.
Challenges are good.
13  General / Gaming General / Re: Official Zelda Thread on: August 09, 2015, 09:13:44 pm
The biggest thing about MM is that it's primarily side-quests, with only 4 temples, making the given Heart count a measly 7. Between the 13 hearts worth of pieces as well as all the masks, bottles, and other items (particularly the stray fairies) it can be a real challenge.
I think I have 15 hearts right now, and one of the buffs I got gave me double defense, so I'm good there ._.
The bombers notebook in the 3DS version really helps with managing sidequests.
Thanks Cheesy

I bought a Wii U last week (been playing lotsa Smash on it) and I downloaded the original Zelda on it, so I'll play that soon.  Also while I'm mentioning the Wii U, I pre-ordered Mario Maker.
Nice! Look forward to the xenoblade, and the new Zelda that'll be coming out eventually of course >.<
Oh, tell me how Mario Maker is. That game seems quite interesting.

Playing through Majora's mask right now.
I can see why so many people like it so much. It's really fun ._.
I DID IT!  I have won A Link to the Past! Very happy about that!

So I've won 6 zelda games now (OoS, OoA, ALBW, LA, PH and aLttP)

will continue with spirit tracks soon.  I'm about a quarter into it I think.
That's awesome dude!

It's 20 bucks on PSN. Worst case, it's worth sitting through the story once. But if you do get and play it, answer the questions honestly. You can learn a lot about yourself that way, even if the questions are easy enough.

That said, be wary, the bosses are HORRIFYING. Ranging from a raging bride with a sword, to a baby with a chainsaw, to a literal ass with a face, the nightmares live up to their name. Between those and the hard puzzles, you should always play easy mode your first time through if only for the super helpful Undo Button it gives you.
I don't have a playstation or xbox system unfortunately D:
