Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate

I have the 3DS version of the game and just found the Multiplayer, which Reechee didn't think existed. So yeah. I'm a total Newb to MH, with less than 5 hours of play in my history of the series. (2 of those hours were trying to pick up an egg and being punched every 2 seconds), so any tips, tricks, or aid would be appreciated.

Currently have access to three star quests, and am wearing Rinopolos Armor (full set) and wielding a Lupine Katana. Having a lot of trouble with some of the bigger game (Quropecos and Royal Ludroths being prime examples) Any recomendations?

Hmm... I think it's too early to have a ice weapon at this time for you, I saw farm some Ludroth and keep a good distance from peco when it tries to hit you with its flaming flints. Armor recommendation would be anything with fire resistance.

Oh and when I said farm ludroth, I meant for royal ludroth so you can have a decent weapon with water element for a ludroth match.


If anyone has a Wii U and this gane, I'll play online today after 6pm est time.

I'm on 3ds, unfortunately. If I were on Wii U (Or even had one) Or if the non ultimate version still worked with online, I'd play for sure, but oh well. ANd I did find a weapon I like, but I need to take down a barroth for it.

How was the Lagiacrus?

I remember my first rumble with it in MH3U... I used a bow against it but couldn't muster the will to slay it. So after ten or so minutes, I let it slumber and set a trap for the inevitable capture... Ah, good times... *old huhter ramblings*

Honestly, the Barroth Armor proved INVALUABLE. I actually, stupidly went in with no Potions, had to forage for some materials for some, and had a lot of close calls. I managed to get the tail off of him, though all it gave from carving were scales (not sure if they give anything else). I also managed to break it's belly and thunder spikes.The death blow was underwater, even though it fled to land three times (I honestly find it easier underwater). Thankfully, I got a few monster bone Ls in my reward, (which I've been grinding barroths for all day and only got two). Since I didn't faint, I think I might make Lagi my new b*tch for grinding for resources. Though not sure if the armor is worth it. I also can't decide how I want to upgrade my sword, assuming I don't buy the new one in the shop (Wanting a Chainslaughter)

I would say the armor is good for your single player battle against a certain boss if the armor retains its skill for swimming. That and the water resistance is awesome.

Dude, I scout every boss out ahead of time. You can say which one I want it for.

Well then, I would suggest Lagi armor against Ceadeus but I believe the Duramboros (?) have almost as good water resistance with Greater Defense. But you would have to gem in Swimming for a smoother battle and stock on Mega Dash Juice.

Turns out, I did, but it's not something I can do. You have to attach your 3ds to a WiiU with a LAN cable. Then they can get online.
