I honestly want to know what my internet friends think.

To me, everything seems pointless in the long run because everyone dies and every thing they've ever done doesn't matter anymore,
unless its something that affects people that live after you die, but even then, humanity itself is going to go extinct at some stage, so it really does not matter in the long run.

Life seems more of something that you use to actively achieve many short-term goals continuously without ever questioning why you bother.
To seem it seems like everyone is forced into a world, bound to a body of cells that could really be anything, from a human to a bunny rabbit and never being able to leave their body until they die.

I don't think an afterlife exists, I think when people die, they just lose their consciousness forever and their body rots and stuff.

I think if there was a reason for everything, it would simply be physics. Things don't happen because of a "deep and meaningful" reason, things just happen.

And I don't think anyone has an obligation to reproduce. Reproducing (generally) helps humanity live longer, but it can't last forever no matter what we do.

What do you guys think?

I believe that there is no afterlife and all that mumbo jumbo, but you only live for so long, you may as well enjoy it to the fullest.
I don't like realists that are cynical and I don't like pessimists, whats the point of life if your just sitting there crying about it all the time, you may as well be dead because your not happy, your not enjoying your life.
People need to stop being so freaking depressing and get a move on. It's why I'm so outgoing at school and stuff, I look at what I say, and push it as far as I can without negative consequences. Obviously some stuff is harder than others, i.e., relationships.

But in general I think you should not waste your life crying about how pointless it is and just do things that make you happy. And it's complete depressing bullshit if "nothing" makes you happy.

I absolutely despise people who act emotionless and depressed just because they can, It's such utter bullshit. You wouldn't be on a bloody pokemon site if you didn't like Pokemon or talking to people.

I think of reproduction because we are technically producing new life and I want to raise my children. I think it would make me happy to have a family.

Also because of this I am a bit materialistic. I love life, why not love what comes with it? Like cars, money, 3ds. I enjoy what I have instead of spending my time weeping about what others don't have.

Obviously I have alot of compassion for those who losts their lives. I do like guns and stuff in video games, but war is the most fucking pointless thing ever. If Humans are so seperior, why do we butcher each other like animals for no reason. People lose their lives over the stupidest things, and that can never be stopped because there are alot of fucking stupid people in the world.

Um...

Purpose- only if you give it one. Life by it's own virtue has no purpose because you're not obligated to do a darned thing with your life. You could just spend your time eating, pooping and sleeping and not making a single contribution to society and still have lived your life fully in your eyes. It's sort of like beauty- it's in the eye of the beholder. I personally feel my life has purpose, but I don't impose a purpose on others. It's really up to you to decide.

I see life as something to be savored and enjoyed. My consciousness is mine alone, and I want to live as though I'll only live once.

I don't know if there's an afterlife. If there is, that's fine, if there isn't, that's fine too. My goal is to live without regrets, and by association, to die without regrets. I figure that we all die soon enough, so why worry about the afterlife? On the note of rotting, my wish is to be cremated, so... yeah. Not really my cuppa tea to be buried. I don't see the purpose.

I do feel that you can find a "deep and meaningful" reason if you look for one. You find what you look for, and in the words of a good friend, you attract what you give off. I try to give a deep and meaningful reason to life by giving that to others. Lots of time, in my life, I do these things for strangers. I wanna give hope and meaning to people without it, because someone once did the same for me. If it is simply physics or chemicals in our brains or whatever, I don't care. I don't seek to analyze but to experience.

Of course there's no obligation to reproduce. If you want to, go ahead... Just please don't have more kids than you can handle. I believe that every child should be loved, and properly provided for. Quality over quantity I say, we're overpopulated anyways. If I ever have kids, it'll be only one or two, because I know that I wouldn't be able to provide and care for more than that. It's simple logic to me.

And on the note of worrying about what others don't have, I do feel for those who are in third world countries. However, I don't have much sympathy for people from first world countries who "just can't make it". I made myself from nothing, and you can too. I've been homeless before. I think that if you put in the effort, most people can make it. I know that there are some situations people can't work out of for whatever reason. I actually go out of my way to help people who are having difficulty getting through the system and making something of themselves since I know how to work through it efficiently. :3

I feel like I didn't explain it well enough, but hey, I tried. Cheesy

I can't say I've spent much time on this earth. But I can say one thing about my perspective on life. Life is what you make it. Be it make some sort of contribution to the future, have a child, or just exist, the important thing is that you enjoy life. Live life well, be a good person, and you can't be disappointed in yourself.

Personally, I feel that if there is an afterlife, it's not what any particular religion says it is. I like to believe that you might have some degree of choice if there is one. But I'm not worried. Because the thing about consciousness is, you remember when your born (though most can't recall it, I personally can). So when you die, it might be the same in reverse, it might be a fade out, it might be the start to a new life, or it might be nothing. We can't know, because it's the one experience we can't tell to other people.

My philosophy is simple. Live. Enjoy your life, and be a good person. If you're gonna have an afterlife or a next life, then that's all you need to have a good one.
