Technically related:

For anyone doing web dev, download the Emmet plugin for Sublime Text and learn how to use it. To put into perspective how much time it saves you: Typing a ! and then pressing tab will put in a basic shell (Head, title, charset, body, doctype) immediately. You can do other stuff too, like typing "ul>li*5>a[href=#]" then pressing tab will produce an unordered list with 5 list items, each with an anchor tag leading to nowhere (good for testing link styles).

So yeah, it's very good and speeds the hell out of coding Smiley

We made a basic game in VB

Mine is a little game, where you have to shoot a plane with your boat.

Turns out I remember most of the basics I learnt in Python, so I'm going through Learn Python the Hard Way again for a refresher. Plan then is to make a few games; thinking I'll go: Text adventure - small rpg/roguelike - bigger rpg/roguelike - infinite runner game I've been thinking of.

Outside of games, I also want to make a reddit bot of some kind as well as a level/map editor for the games.

There's an offer from YoYoGames (people who make GameMaker now), until the end of the day you can download freely the Standard Edition of GameMaker (usually $50) and upgrade to Professional for $35 (usually $100).

Download GM here: http://www.yoyogames.com/studio/download
Then take the free Standard license
Then read your email to have the license number
Then enter the licence number in here https://www.yoyogames.com/checkout to upgrade to Professional.

Cheers.

Haha
Scripting languages can be a pain...
I'm still getting up to speed on Lua and ActionScript. Maybe I'll learn Python as well. All that for EA, plus C++.
And I am coding in C# and Java in my free time.
For the first time in a long while I took a weekend off. Completely. Stayed in my bed, watched movies and played games. Time to go to work now though ^^.

You don't expect me to work on weekends do you? Tongue
Nah I work between 40 and 50 hours a week, but that includes my lunch time and sport activities.
But technically I have access to my office 24/7 so I could very well just come in on a Saturday and work all day. Which I will probably do at some point.
